Muslim Umbrella Groups (MUGS) today congratulates the new President on his election to the White House, after a long and bitter fought contest.  After a historic campaign by both sides, where much mud and other dirt of dubious origin was flung, the voters have spoken by defacing small pieces of paper, (or pressing buttons on screens).

MUGS worked with both campaigns to ensure Muslim issues were at the forefront nationwide.  With the Democrats, MUGS furthered the causes of Muslims by firmly establishing Barack Obama is not Muslim.  On the Republican side, we worked hard to ensure by the end of the campaign,  anti-Muslim smearing was carefully deflected into traditional anti-Arab prejudice, a philosophy we call shariah-compliant progressive regression.

The closeness of the election, as well as the polarised nature of the contest, shows how important this election is.  We call upon all citizens of the world, whether they have heard of us or not, to unite and heal the wounds of the past.  It is time to forge a new era, where little American children can saunter across the street without being harrassed by oppressive jaywalking legislation like the children in Europe can.

As a British-based Muslim umbrella organisation, we again congratulate the new US president.  Some would ask, “What is the role of a British organisation to influence policy abroad?” This is a legitimate question.  Spokes-parson Mullah Charles Balasubramaniamnarasimharao answers directly:  “What can be more British than to try and impose regime change on a backward, undemocratic fanatically-religous country abroad, in the hope of financial gain?  We have been doing this for centuries, and insha’Allah, we will continue for centuries to come”.
